Great Clean Up!

Posted February 2010

The CHTC would like to thank all 85 participants who lent their hands for this year's Helping Hands of Hueco 5th annual climber clean up. We were able to clean over 40 areas; focusing on glass pickup, cleaning chalk off high traffic areas, and a trail project for the Maze area. We are greatful that the climbing community stepped up and wants preserve climbing at Hueco! A big thanks also goes out to Petzl and Metolius for providing the raffle items after the dinner. A good time was had by all.

Closure Alert

Posted January 2010

Donkey Head, a popular North mountain V4 has been closed to climbing. After completing a new archaeological study the park administration has determined that there is rock art in the area of Donkey Head. It is customary for the park to close ALL climbing in a 50 ft. radius form rock art, but they have made an exception with this closure and all Mission Impossible and Michael Kenyon boulder problems will remain open.
